| Background on Age Discrimination and Hispanic EEO Lawsuits.
Several employees across the FDIC have initiated EEO class action discrimination lawsuits. At this time they include an Age Discrimination Lawsuit and a Hispanic Discrimination Lawsuit. (If there are other lawsuits filed in the future the news related to those filings will be posted on this website). These lawsuits have been working their way through the legal system for several years. The Age Discrimination lawsuit alleges that the FDIC by plan and practice has discriminated against older FDIC employees in its promotion and other practices. Documents filed by the participants show that during board meetings with Board members and FDIC senior staff that discussions were held (from verbatim transcripts) on how to get older workers to leave the FDIC due to the need to downsize the organization. This Age Discrimination lawsuit was filed several years ago. Listed below is information for each of the filings we have been provided by concerned employees. Below is also information as to who to contact directly for information related to this lawsuit. The Hispanic Lawsuit represents all Hispanic employees who have been affected by Employment Discrimination. This lawsuit has been around for a number of years. Below is a link from the lawsuit website which identifies who to contact for getting more information related to this lawsuit. In January 2005 the EEOC certified the Nationwide Class Action Lawsuit alleging employment discrimination filed on behalf of Hispanic employees against the FDIC. NTEU has no direct relationship to these lawsuits.
